Making trip planning easier, TravelTex.com helps tourists explore all 267,000 square miles of the Lone Star State, with event listings, regional activities, trip saver coupons and tour suggestions. The site is maintained by the Office of the Governor, Economic Development and Tourism in partnership with other state agencies dedicated to promoting Texas tourism. Texas Commission on the Arts
Find out about arts and cultural events across the state by visiting the Web site for the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA). Look for the link to TCA's artonart.com calendar where you can search for arts and cultural events by date, locale and event type in addition to other features
 
Texas Department of Transportation
Planning a road trip? TxDOT manages Travel Information Centers throughout the state and publishes Texas Highways, the travel magazine of Texas.
 
The Texas Historical Commission
THC works to preserve Texas' architectural, archeological and cultural landmarks. Visit THC's Web site and look for the link to Heritage Travel to find details on exploring the state's historic sites.
 
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
From parks and historic sites to nature, boating, hunting and fishing, the TPWD provides outdoor recreational opportunities by managing and protecting wildlife and wildlife habitat and acquiring and managing parklands and historic areas. TPWD also publishes Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine , a monthly guide to the Texas outdoors with information on fishing, hunting, camping, birding, boating, traveling and more.
